YOUR HAIRSTYLE IS A STATEMENT.

Your hair style is also sending a message and is being interpreted by others whether you like it or not.

The human brain is very visual oriented. So when you meet someone for the first time, before you even say anything, your image has already made an impact.

In the eyes of the beholder, the idea and impression of who you are is already being formulated.

That’s why it is so important to be intentional about what type of image we are presenting to the world around us.

Or in the very least, be aware of what you’re communicating, even unintentionally.

We live in a multicultural society. The internet made it possible for us to connect globally and now we are exposed to all kinds of people and cultural practices, and we are always finding new beauty in those who are different from us.

It is important to acknowledge the biases and privileges as well as the prejudices and persecutions experienced by different people.

While we do our part to promote equality, representation, inclusivity and acceptance of marginalized people, it’s very important that we seek to broaden our perspectives on what is considered fine, elegant, beautiful, expensive, of high quality, respectable, reputable, acceptable and distinct when it comes to how people dress and how people look.

Understanding how to better continue to navigate life while being our true authentic selves even when by doing so we are disrupting the status quo and celebrating our individuality… using what we know about our patriarchal societal norms to our advantages, is also a revolutionary act.

Fashion has the power to change politics.

If that resonates with you, please let me know your thoughts in the comments below and let’s stay in touch.

With love,
